Subaru

Philadelphia Union Sponsorship

Headquarterd in Philadelphia, Subaru wanted to do even more to support its local community. In February of 2020, Major League Soccer’s Philadelphia Union announced its stadium has been renamed Subaru Park. With the partnership came a commitment to bring each of Subaru’s Love Promise pillars to life in the park through brand experiences and activations: Subaru Loves to Help, Subaru Loves to Care, Subaru Loves Learning, Subaru Loves the Earth and Subaru Loves Pets.

Gear For Good

The Gear for Good initiative offers sports supplies and soccer equipment to Philadelphia communities that need it most. To date, 700 items from Subaru and its retailers have been donated and distributed throughout the city, along with hundreds of hats and blankets at events like the City Team Chester Block Party.

Garden For Good

With the goal of creating the most sustainable environment for fans and the Philadelphia community, Subaru Park aims to grow good food and waste less. As the first MLS soccer stadium to achieve zero landfill status, our objective is to reduce, reuse, and recycle every piece of trash in the stadium, driving our waste output to the landfill down to zero. Alongside this initiative, we helped create the Garden for Good, the first organic garden at a Philadelphia professional sports stadium that grows fresh fruits and vegetables that are then donated to local Chester communities in need. With the goal of providing fresh produce for donation to food banks in Chester and Philadelphia communities, this garden has harvested a total of 3,035 pounds of home-grown and organic food for the community.

Game Day Pups & Dogs of Ben

In partnership with the Philadelphia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) and Providence Animal Center, Subaru and the Union highlight four adoptable Gameday Pups dogs at each game. During the pandemic, when in-person game attendance was challenging, the ‘Dogs of Ben’ program was born. The Dogs of Ben program showcased cut-out photos of real adoptable dogs in a furry fan section, which to date has resulted in over 88 adoptions. These programs, alongside Make a Dog’s Day Fest, in which 17 pet organizations brought over 100 adoptable dogs to a game, has resulted in over 200 dogs being adopted over last season.
